Error: "3048,3" appears on my Norton product
To fix this problem, download and install the latest virus definitions using Intelligent Updater.
Update your virus definitions

Go to the Intelligent Updater downloads page.

Depending on your version of Windows, do one of the following:

For Windows 8/7/Vista/XP 32-bit: Click the first file in the list under Filename. The file name starts with the year and ends with
. e.g. 20070828-017-v5i32.exe -
For Windows 8/7/Vista 64-bit: Go to the 64-bit Platforms section, and click the first file in the list under Filename. The file name starts with the year and ends with
. e.g. 20090922-017-v5i64.exe

Save the file to the Windows desktop.

On the desktop, double-click the file that you saved.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install the virus definitions using Intelligent Updater.
If the problem persists, then your computer may be infected. We recommend that you download and run Norton Power Eraser to check if your computer is infected by a threat. Go to Step 2.

By default, Norton Power Eraser performs a Rootkit scan and requires a system restart. When you see a prompt to restart the computer, click
. If you do not want to include the Rootkit scan, go to , and uncheck the option . -
Wait for the scan to complete.

Exit all the programs, and restart your computer.
